If you own a small business, child care is especially important for you — not to mention especially complicated. If you are like most small business owners, you are likely to work long hours and some off hours, which makes it difficult to find child care that will fit with your schedule.
Your options are typically day care, nanny care, babysitters, family, or some mix of those four. Day care and preschool or after school care centers are typically only open during the hours when most people work — for instance, from 6:30 in the morning to 6:30 in the evening during the week. This doesn’t leave much room for working late or working on weekends.
If you hire a nanny, on the other hand, you may be able to have much more flexibility over the hours of childcare provided, but the cost may also be prohibitive. Babysitters are much more affordable but typically not as experienced, and may not be able to recognize the difference between your educational European toys and cheap knock-offs from Wal-Mart.
Family, of course, is familiar and often free resource for childcare, but it also comes with the potential for misunderstandings, miscommunications, and hurt feelings.
A very few small business owners actually get to provide their own care for their children, by working at home by the day (instead of at an office). But this is hardly the norm, not to mention it comes with a whole host of problems of its own, most of them having to do with trying to juggle kids and work at the same time.
Finding childcare is just one of the challenges that you are likely to face as a small business owner, but it certainly doesn’t make owning a small business any less rewarding. With a little creativity and problem-solving skills, you should be able to find a solution that allows you to run your business AND ensure that your kids have the best possible care.

For many businesses, contracting for office cleaning services is a necessity. I worked in retail for a while, and while we were always responsible for cleaning our own store, most offices don’t operate that way. Can you imagine what you would say if the hiring manager for a desk job told you that you would be responsible for vacuuming around your desk and taking out the trash?
Besides, having employees do these things is not an efficient use of your company’s money when your employees are more highly paid than a janitor. Why would you pay your employee $30 an hour to clean, when you could get a janitor to do it for less?
Finally, office cleaning companies are usually much faster and more efficient at their jobs than your employees would be. They will most likely bring a crew with them, and get the job done quickly. If you are having them clean during business hours, this is especially important because it means they’ll get the job done and get out of your hair much sooner.
A variety of businesses can benefit from a contract with an office cleaning company. For instance, if you own a dog grooming business, you could hire an office cleaning company to do a really thorough cleaning once or twice a week. Obviously if you groom a miniature schnauzer, you’ll have to sweep up the hair yourself afterward, but chances are you’ll be a bit rushed between customers. Therefore hiring cleaners to do a really good job on cleaning periodically would be a benefit to you and your business.

If you are interested in search engine optimisation Birmingham has something for you! Maybe you’ve never heard of search engine optimisation. Let me tell you, it is the hottest thing going in marketing for the 21st century!
So many people get onto the internet to do research before contracting services or buying a product. It’s harder and harder to stand out in the crowd, especially if the person looking has never heard of particular companies. Actually, I suppose it’s harder for those well-known companies, too. So what you can do is contract with companies who actually work the internet to make sure that those search engines bring optimal results … to you and your company name!
I’ve even come across companies while I’m surfing blogs for completely unrelated topics. Sometimes the subject of the blog brings me around to a new idea, and then that leads me to a company I might never have thought of. This is so much better than pop-ups, junk email or telemarketing. You should really look into it if you have any kind of business at all. I’m even thinking about it for my upcoming shows at my high school this fall: Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, and Diary of Anne Frank.

I work at a county court office. I don’t think it is a good idea to say where or which one in this forum. Not that I’m going to say anything bad or incriminating though. It’s not a bad job either. The pay isn’t that great, but the benefits rock. Plus we have every holiday that you can imagine off!
One of the things that we do is maintain public records. As the name implies, these records must be available to the public. But you used to have to jump through burning hoops to retrieve these records. You literally had to come into our office and fill out a public records request. Then we would physically chase down specific files and make copies. Well this is the information age. It was time that we get with the times.
We needed to go digital. But there was literally a basement full of court documents. Yea, I’ll run right down there and start scanning them in! We needed a document scanning solution which did not involve our small staff. We ended up outsourcing to a document imaging service. They came here and did all of the work for us. And now our public records are even available online.

I was asking my husband the other day about the difference between shuffleboard played on the ground and shuffleboard tables. I really thought that the game was mainly played on the ground in the outdoors. That’s how we played it when we went on a cruise out of New Orleans seven years ago. But if you really look into it, the care and concern that go into shuffleboard tables makes me think that that is the primary game the way is played.
But he said no. He said it was kind of like street hockey that is played with longer sticks and bigger pucks on the pavement versus the air hockey you can play on a table, but I don’t know. I used to have an air hockey table and they just simply did not require the adjustments and waxing that a good shuffleboard table does. However, I do see why they adapted the game to the indoors, seeing as how popular it is in senior centers and rec centers, even in areas where there is snow on the ground much of the year.
But which came first? Which is the pro sport played upon? I’m kind of interested because I know the size of pucks and the space of the play is very different from the ground to the table, and I want to make sure I practice on the right size field, primarily.

What do you do if your business has a lot of debt and you can’t pay it? The sad news is that a lot of businesses just stop paying their bills because they don’t know what else to do. This only increases their debt. Eventually, it also leads to debt collectors coming after you. If you wait too long to deal with the situation, you can end up with a mountain of debt and a court date to sort the situation out.
Did you know that you can avoid this problem by doing a business debt negotiation? This is when you work with a debt consultant to reduce the amount of money that you owe. Debt consultants work with your debt collectors so that you don’t have to.
This option attacks both of your main problems at once. It lowers the amount of money that you have to repay so that you can actually possibly afford to pay it back. Plus it settles the problem out of court. This saves you more money because you avoid legal fees plus it saves you the hassle of going to court. If you haven’t dealt with your business debt then this is one way that you may want to do so.
