Construction workers often try to get jobs that allow them to work in beautiful destinations. For awhile, one of the top destinations to get construction work in was Fiji. However, the market in Fiji is changing and it’s not nearly as easy to get a good construction job there as it was just a few short years ago. This doesn’t mean that construction workers can not find jobs in Fiji but it does mean that they need to know where to look.
A few years ago, the place to get a job in Fiji was in the construction of hotels and resorts. Business was booming and it seemed like a new Fiji hotel or Fiji resort was going up every other month. This opened up a load of construction jobs. However, a decline in the economy has reduced the amount of new building that’s going on there today. Construction workers who work on hotels will need to look at renovation work instead of new construction if they want to find a job.
Construction workers may also find that a good place to get a job in Fiji right now is in projects assigned by the government. Construction work on roadways and sewers is still plentiful in this area since the government wants to keep the area nice for visitors. Today’s construction workers can try to find employment in this sector until the hotel business starts improving again.

China, the sleeping giant is gently awaking. I had the chance to visit a place in China called Panzihua.
Taking a train going there, I saw that villages are rising up in what used to be rice paddies. Yes, China is in a building frenzy.
I saw at least two separate places where big construction projects were taking place. Trucks, cranes and gravel screening machines were busy carrying soil, sand and cement. I guess it was a big mall constructed in one area and a new city in the other.
I even saw a big mansion constructed in a small remote town. For just one residence, it took a construction company to bring in huge construction trucks, gravel screeners and a portable screening plant. Wow, these nouveau rich are really having the time of their lives!
The Chinese are also heavily investing in English education and a lot of people from richer countries like USA, Canada and Australia are flocking there to teach English for a hefty salary. If one visits a big city like Beijing and China, it would not be uncommon to see ordinary people in expensive signature wears.
I would not be surprised to see China becoming a superpower in the future. With its more than one billion people, it already has power in its hands even now.

One of the most important things that needs to be taken into consideration any time that there is going to be construction is the issue of safety. It is important to make sure that the construction workers are kept safe during the work. It is even more important to make sure that other people in the area, such as customers of a store that’s being renovated, are kept safe throughout the time that construction is taking place.
In order to keep things safe, it is important to make use of safety equipment that is designed specifically for this purpose. For example, you might want to put up a jersey barrier around the perimeter of the construction area so that people know which area to stay out of in order to be safe. If the construction is taking place in an area with a parking lot, you may want to use a temporary fence or a traffic barricade to keep cars out of harm’s way.
When we’re getting ready to have construction done, we’re often most excited about the work itself. We want to know when it will be complete so that our building can be ready for full use. However, we need to remember that safety and crowd control during the construction is the thing that’s going to be of primary concern.
